Student Interest Survey
Artifact Description:
The student interest survey using google forms is a great tool to find out what the students' interests are in the classroom. It allows anyone to formulate questions to ask an audience; in this case, it allows teachers to find out what each student's favorite subject, sport, or anything else. It is very easy to create a survey using google docs. To start, you go into google docs and right away, you can choose what kind of question you want to ask. There can be multiple choice, checklist, date, time, and many others. Creating this survey connects to component 1B element about the knowledge of students' interests and cultural heritage. Through the questions, the teacher can learn more about the interests, strengths and weaknesses or each student.
Artifact Reflection:
I never knew google drive could make surveys like these, so it was really cool to use. While making it, I learned just how important it is to know what your students' interests are so you can connect with them and help them. Something I would do differently is incorporate more questions that rate how they feel about a subject, or their capability of something. By using the scale, it can help me as a teacher to determine where they are academically. Not only by scaling how they feel, but using different questions, I can use google forms to learn more about my students when I have a class of my own. I can create surveys to ask about what they like to do, how well they do with certain subjects, and what their goals are. In the survey below, it can help teachers to understand what their students' skills are. In general, surveys get you to know your students more. It is important to get to know your students, just like how it's important to know what stage of development they are in. In Piaget's stages of development that I learned in education psychology, I learned how you must know the stages of each student so you can better help them. By using surveys, it can help you figure out what stage they are at so you can change your lesson plans that accommodate their needs.
