2D: Managing Student Behavior
This component focuses on setting high goals for students, as well as monitoring their behavior.
Being a teacher, watching over the students is very important; making sure they are behaving, as well as making sure they understand what the classroom rules and goals are expected of them is required.
It is important because the classroom needs to run smoothly with little disruptions. The class should be effective in establishing rules and following them so transitions will be smooth. Teachers must also establish the expectations the students need to meet; the students must know what is required of them during the class. While students must know what they must do in the class, it is also important to feel valued, respected, and cared for when they are disobedient by their teacher and need to be disciplined. Teachers must discipline out of love.

Examples of Aritifacts
Canva:
Canva can be used to create posters that display rules on them. Hanging these posters around the class can help remind students of the expectations the teacher has for them. |
Class Dojo
This is a great way to monitor behavior, encouraging students to behave nicely in order to get points. It is also great for parents, being able to see how their student is doing in class. |
Excel:
Excel can be used to keep a chart of the behaviors of the students. It is neat and organized, so it will be easy to see how their behavior progresses. |
Songs or Rhymes:
Singing a song or rhyme can help grab the attention of younger students. When they become noisy, it can help get their attention on repeating something you say, or singing along to a simple song. |
