2C: Managing Classroom Procedures
This component focuses on the classroom schedule and how it flows. Creating a schedule for the class not only helps the teacher to stay on task and get everything done, but it also gives structure for the students. With a class that runs smoothly, the students will have a positive environment that will encourage their learning.
It is important because class time should be used wisely. Having an effective and efficient classroom means having transitions and non instructional tasks, that are done in an orderly fashion. These non instructional duties are made so it does not take up time that should be used for more important topics. Using the time wisely could include having the students work together in groups. Having the students work in groups is important so students can become engaged, having responsibilities and roles. The teacher should be making transitions of how each activity comes after another, managing the materials and supplies as well. When a volunteer or paraprofessional comes in to help in learning, the teacher should also know how to instruct, use and fit them into the classroom.

Examples of Artifacts
Internship:
Having an intern in the class will provide the teacher with someone to mentor to, and someone that can give a helping hand. Knowing how to use that intern correctly, will help the students. |
Class Webpage Using Weebly:
Creating a class webpage using something like weebly, will help keep students posted on what they nee to know about the class. Rules can be written out in a clear, understandable way so they can look at it when ever they want, and read it. |
Google Docs:
Using google docs, students can work together in groups without a teacher watching over them. The teacher can have the students share their work with one another and with the teacher. In this way, the students all work on the document together while also allowing the teacher to see their end product. |
