Currently, I am a senior at Grove City College. I will receive my certification in PreK-4 Elementary and PreK-8 Special Education when I graduate in May, 2019. I have a large range of experience in different types of classrooms. I have taught in general education classrooms from PreK-4th grade. I have also been in an autistic support classroom, an emotional support classroom, a 3rd and 4th grade learning support classroom, and a multiple disabilities classroom. My student teacher placements were in a first grade class and a K-2 life skills class. Through Grove City College's excellent program, I have been able to design numerous lesson plans which integrate hands on activities, I have individualized my lessons according to my students, I have engaged my students in episodic learning, and I have built relationships with my students. My enthusiasm for teaching and seeing the light bulb moment in my students motivates me to empower my future students. I look forward to have a classroom of my own, where I can create a warm, open classroom, watch my students grow and continue to grow in teaching as well.

Camp Men-O-Lan:
Camp Men-O-Lan is a Christian camp where children ages 5-18 can come and spend the week playing games, meeting new people, and learning about God. When I was a sophomore in high school, I decided to work at this camp over the summer. It has been one of the most beneficial decisions I have made. My first year, I was in the kitchen because I was not old enough to be a day camp counselor. After that year, I served as a day camp counselor for three years. My role at camp is to watch, lead, and teach the campers. I had the opportunity to develop relationships with a multitude of campers, and teach them about God. This has played an incredible role in pursuing my career as a future educator. I loved leading the students into each activity, teaching them, guiding them, and getting to know each heart. As a future educator, I will do similar tasks; I will lead them from place to place, teach them, guide them, and get to know each student. The experiences I have had can be helpful for the future.
